A Russian-language song from 1991 that engages with themes of technological accessibility and the seductive ease of technological control. The title translates to "Technology - Press the Button," suggesting a meditation on how technology reduces complex systems to simple user actions. Released during the early post-Soviet period, the work reflects contemporary anxieties and fascinations with technological advancement as the USSR transitioned toward a market economy and greater exposure to Western consumer technology. The song revolves around a brilliant creator or programmer ("every night you sit by the window, moving the stars"). He has built a perfect, automated "artificial paradise." The famous chorus—"Press the button and you'll get a result, and your dream will come true"—represents ultimate convenience. However, it leads to an existential dead-end: "But why aren't you happy? You have nothing left to strive for." Once a dream becomes too easy to achieve, it loses its value. The Illusion of the Digital World. The metaphors of an "artificial paradise" and "encrypted hope" accurately predicted the modern digital age. The protagonist surrounds himself with technology and emotional surrogates, only to end up lonely, listening to the "rustle of the night rain."
