Iron Man

Iron Man follows Tony Stark, a brilliant but arrogant weapons manufacturer and inventor, who is captured by terrorists in Afghanistan and forced to build a destructive weapon. Instead, he constructs a powered exoskeleton suit to escape captivity. Upon returning to the United States, Stark refines the suit and uses it to fight crime and confront the darker implications of his weapons business.

Directed by Jon Favreau and starring Robert Downey Jr., the film launched the Marvel Cinematic Universe and became a cultural phenomenon.
