The Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) is a nonprofit research and educational organization founded to develop psychedelics and cannabis into FDA-approved medicines and to promote beneficial uses of these substances. MAPS has conducted pioneering clinical trials on MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for PTSD, psilocybin-assisted therapy for end-of-life anxiety, and other psychedelic treatments. The organization funds research, trains therapists, and advocates for policy reform to enable legal therapeutic use of psychedelics.

Founded during the height of drug prohibition, MAPS has become a leading voice in the psychedelic renaissance, bridging scientific research, clinical practice, and drug policy advocacy. Its work has contributed to FDA breakthrough therapy designations for MDMA-assisted therapy and increased mainstream acceptance of psychedelic medicine research.
