FAIR — Future AI Research (PNRR partnership)

FAIR (Future AI Research) is an Italian national research partnership established under the Piano Nazionale di Ripresa e Resilienza (PNRR), Italy's EU-funded recovery and resilience plan. The initiative brings together academic and research institutions to advance artificial intelligence research aligned with European strategic priorities. Spoke 1 of FAIR focuses on human-centered AI and trustworthy AI, with particular emphasis on legal and ethical design frameworks. The partnership aims to position Italy as a leader in responsible AI development and to build research capacity in alignment with EU AI Act principles and digital sovereignty goals.
