The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace is one of the world's oldest and most influential think tanks, established in 1910 by industrialist Andrew Carnegie with an initial endowment of $10 million. Carnegie's vision was to create an institution dedicated to the abolition of war through research, dialogue, and the advancement of international law and cooperation.

The organization operates multiple regional offices and research programs spanning Europe, Russia and Eurasia, China, the Middle East, and Latin America. It conducts research on global governance, international security, economic development, and democracy, publishing influential reports, books, and policy briefs that shape international discourse.

Carnegie has played a significant role in major policy debates, from arms control and nuclear nonproliferation during the Cold War to contemporary issues including climate change, artificial intelligence governance, and great power competition. The endowment maintains editorial independence and is known for rigorous, nonpartisan analysis that informs policymakers, academics, and the public.
